6063 Aluminium sheet

(1) 6063 representative alloy for extrusion has lower strength than 6061 and good extrusion performance. It can be used as complex cross-section shape material with good corrosion resistance and surface treatment.

(2) It belongs to low alloyed Al-Mg-Si high plastic alloy. It has many valuable characteristics:

1. Heat treatment strengthening, high impact toughness, insensitive to lack.

2. Excellent thermoplasticity. It can be extruded into complex structures at high speed. Thin-walled. Hollow profiles or forgings result in complex structures. The quenching temperature range is wide and the quenching sensitivity is low. After extrusion and forging demoulding, as long as the temperature is higher than the quenching temperature. It can be quenched by spraying or piercing water. The thin-walled parts (6 < 3mm) can also be quenched by air.

3. The weldability and corrosion resistance are excellent, and there is no tendency of stress corrosion cracking. Among heat-treated strengthened aluminium alloys, Al-Mg-Si alloy is the only one that has not found stress corrosion cracking. 4. After processing, the surface is very smooth and easy to be anodized and colored. The disadvantage is that if quenched at room temperature for a period of time aging, it will have a negative impact on the strength (parking effect).

2 ) Control range:

3.1 Mg control range Mg is flammable metal, and there will be burning loss during smelting operation. In determining the control range of Mg, the errors caused by burning should be taken into account, but not too wide, so as to avoid the loss of control of alloy properties. According to our experience and the level of batching, smelting and testing in our factory, the fluctuation range of Mg is controlled within 0.04%, that of T5 is 0.47%-0.50%, and that of T6 is 0.57%-0.60%. 3.2 When the range of Mg is determined, the range of Si can be determined by Mg/Si ratio. The Mg/Si ratio should be controlled between 1.18 and 1.32 because the plant controls the excess of Si to 0.09%-0.13%. 3.36063 Aluminum Alloy T5 and T6 Profile Chemical Composition Selection Range. To change the composition of the alloy, for example, to increase the Mg2Si content to 0.95%, so as to facilitate the production of T6 profiles, the Mg can be moved up to about 0.6% along the upper and lower limits of Si. At this time, Si is about 0.46%, Si is over 0.11%, Mg/Si is 1.3.4. According to our factory's experience, the content of Mg2Si in 6063 Aluminium alloy profiles is controlled in the range of 0.75%-0.80%, which can fully meet the requirements of mechanical properties. Under normal extrusion coefficient (greater than or equal to 30), the tensile strength of profiles is in the range of 200-240 MPa. By controlling the alloy in this way, not only the material has good plasticity, easy extrusion, high corrosion resistance and good surface treatment performance, but also the alloy elements can be saved. However, special attention should be paid to the strict control of impurity Fe. If the content of Fe is too high, the extrusion force will increase, the surface quality of extruded material will deteriorate, the color difference of anodic oxidation will increase, the color will be gray and glossy, and the plasticity and corrosion resistance of the alloy will be reduced. Practice has proved that it is ideal to control the content of Fe in the range of 0.15%-0.25%.


3 )Application:

Within the composition range of 6063 Aluminium Alloy stipulated in national standard GB/T3190, different values of chemical composition will lead to different material properties. When the chemical composition range is large, the performance difference will fluctuate in a large range, so that the comprehensive properties of profiles can not be controlled. Therefore, optimizing the chemical composition of 6063 Aluminium alloy becomes the most important part of producing high quality aluminium alloy building profiles. The effect of alloying elements and its influence on properties 6063 Aluminium alloy is a heat-treated strengthening alloy with medium strength in AL-Mg-Si system. Mg and Si are the main alloying elements. The main task of optimizing chemical composition is to determine the percentage content of Mg and Si.

6063 Aluminium alloy is widely used in the frame of building aluminium doors, windows and curtain walls. In order to ensure that doors, windows and curtain walls have high wind pressure resistance, assembly performance, corrosion resistance and decoration performance, the comprehensive performance requirements of aluminium alloy profiles are far higher than the industrial profile standards.
