Description

6061 Aluminium sheet

The main alloying elements of 6061 alloy are magnesium and silicon, which have medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and good oxidation effect. They are widely used in various industrial structures requiring high strength and antibiotic corrosion.

It can neutralize the bad effect of iron; sometimes a small amount of copper or zinc is added to improve the strength of the alloy without significantly reducing its corrosion resistance; there is a small amount of copper in the conductive material to offset the negative effect of titanium and iron on the conductivity; zirconium or titanium can refine grains and control recrystallization structure; in order to improve the machinability, lead and bismuth can be added. The Mg2Si solid solution in aluminium makes the alloy have the function of artificial aging hardening. The main alloying elements in 6061 aluminium alloy are magnesium and silicon, which have medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and good oxidation effect.

Aluminum 6061 has excellent processability, good corrosion resistance, high toughness, no distortion after processing, easy coloring film and excellent oxidation effect.

It belongs to Al-Mg-Si alloy with medium strength, good plasticity and excellent corrosion resistance. Especially, it has no stress corrosion cracking tendency. It has good weldability, corrosion resistance and cold workability. It is a promising alloy with a wide range of applications. It can be colored by anodic oxidation or painted with enamel, which is suitable for building decoration materials. It contains a small amount of copper, so its strength is higher than 6063, but its quenching sensitivity is also higher than 6063. After extrusion, it can not be quenched by air. It needs re-solution treatment and quenching aging to obtain higher strength.
