6082 Aluminium sheet

6082 aluminium sheet (component) 6082 belongs to 6 x x x series (Al-Mg-Si) alloy aluminium sheet, which can be strengthened by heat treatment. It has medium strength, good weldability and corrosion resistance. It is mainly used in transportation and structural engineering industry. Such as bridges, cranes, roof frames, transporters, transport ships, etc. In recent years, with the rapid development of shipbuilding industry at home and abroad, it has become an important issue for the aluminum processing industry and shipbuilding industry to reduce hull weight, improve ship speed and seek aluminum alloy materials to replace steel components. 6082 aluminium alloy sheet has medium strength, good corrosion resistance and light weight. It is an ideal material for manufacturing high-speed ship parts.

1 ) Chemical composition

Si：0.7～1.3 ；

2 ) Mechanical property:

Tensile strength σb (MPa): > 205

CONDITIONAL YIELD STRENGTH σ0.2 (MPa): > 110

Elongation of σ10 (%): 14 uuuuuuuuuuu

Sample size: all thickness

Homogenization temperature: 555-565 C holding time: 3 hours, cooling rate (> 200 C/h)

3 ) Casting process:

(6082)1. Melting

6082 alloy is characterized by containing Mn. Mn is a refractory metal. The melting temperature should be controlled at 740-760 C. Before sampling, the metal is stirred more than twice to ensure complete melting, accurate temperature and uniform composition. After mixing, one sample is taken from the middle of the liquid aluminium depth and the left and right sides of the furnace for analysis, and the converter can be obtained after qualified breakdown.

(6082)2. Purification and Casting

After the melt is transferred into the static furnace, powder injection and jet refining are carried out with nitrogen and refining agent. The refining temperature is 735-745 C, and the refining time is 15 minutes. After refining, the melt is put in a static state for 30 minutes. Through this process, degassing, slag removal and melt purification are carried out.

During casting, there are two filter devices between the mold and the furnace. The furnace has a foam ceramic filter plate (30PPI) to filter. Before casting, 14 mesh glass cloth is used to filter the oxide and slag in the melt.

The casting temperature of 6082 alloy aluminium sheet is higher than that of 6063 Aluminium sheet (normal process), casting speed is lower and water flow is larger. The above process should be strictly controlled and can not exceed the scope, otherwise it will easily lead to casting failure.
